I just got back from the Theater of Comedy where I watched a play called “Ce formidabila harababura!”(ro) by Eugene Ionesco. The room was full, overcrowded even. I can break-up the plot in 2 parts: the first one , where the hero didn’t speak at all, just the other characters and the main idea is that when you just listen to someone, that person talks and talks until you (by just listening) become the voice of his conscience. He thinks he is having a dialog with you, while in fact he’s having a dialog/monologue with himself, unveiling his deepest thoughts and frustrations.

The second part reveals the fact that the main character cannot express his feelings, he cannot overcome as he said “the wall” that surrounds him.

The end is quite surprising, containing a moral of the whole story (you can hear it in the player below (ro) ).

The play is stuffed with symbols and teachings in the weird “Ionesco way” (I can’t say I understood it all), but the acting and directing were really impressive and I definitely recommend it (and please note I kinda’ hate Ionesco because I played him both in high-school and in college. I find it interesting but I cannot cope with “the absurd”)
